Pros

Very friendly people to work with on an everyday basis in all departments. Managers tend to let you do your job and not micro manage. Can work from home full time.

Cons

Oasis and ERC were purchased in early 2023 and merged and the end of 2023 to form Astrion. Many people were laid off around Christmas due to the overlapping jobs from multiple companies. The new CEO seems to focus more on presentation than anything else. There's a new executive of this or that being hired weekly while the actually contract people and over head people lose their jobs. The CEOs history seems to be gutting companies, making them profitable through his vision, and then leaving for another company without much empathy for the employees. We did get the entire we care about you and you matter talk right away which ended up being farce but that's to be expected.

Not what it used to be

Pros

Starting salary strong at hiring

Cons

Cost cutting measures across the board. Sold FTO as a benefit when everyone knows it’s an accounting move and not have to set aside actual earned PTO ( as of Jan 1 all PTO was frozen and locked away until you leave the company at 2023 rates, getting mauled by inflation). In January it was announced the review cycle would go by calendar year, pushing some people’s merit/COLA/contract rate changes off up to a year ( I’m positive it won’t be adjusted for the additional wait). Don’t get sick on the health insurance here , probably go broke with the combo of high premiums and high deductibles.

Slowly getting worse

Pros

Starting pay and benefits were great to start with. Originally offered 160 hours in PTO and then changed to FTO. Not unlimited but going above the original 160 hours within reason was permitted.

Cons

Annual raises are minimal. Company asks for annual self evaluation assessments, but does not take them into consideration for merit raises. Even getting a post graduate degree will not lead to a raise. FTO is now capped at 112 hours. Leave taken at the end of the year was counted towards the new years leave balance. Leadership has reassured that there is no such thing as a "balance" but there is. HR insists that the policy has not changed but clearly there have been some big changes. Astrion was a great company to start with, but after the merger with Axient things have been declining at a fast pace. Would not recommend to work here until recent changed are reversed.
