Pros

-Pretty view of the shoreline from the break room. -Office space is very nice looking. -Sometimes they throw parties. -Free coffee. Free water.

Cons

If you're offered a job in Research/Verifications/Adjudications, you turn around and get away. I don't know you, but you don't deserve this. This company truly wasn't always this bad... In fact, a year ago I would've told you we were just in a rough patch. I loved this job. but this place is rotting from the inside. It's sad to see but not all that surprising.. -This is the type of company where your leadership will not show their face until they call a meeting to tell you you've been assigned mandatory overtime. Then they'll slink away again. This is the type of company that will post fake positive reviews on Glassdoor to combat their employees' frustrations.. Heck, this is a company that actually had the audacity to bring up these Glassdoor Reviews at our Quarterly Town Hall Meeting! They brought them up, and completely wrote them off as disgruntled former employees who were dismissed... This is 1000% indicative of the kind of company you're going to work for. They would NEVER look for any merit behind negative criticisms. They wouldn't even go so far as to read the room. They will straight up tell you morale is great, as if you couldn't cut the tension with a plastic spoon. They don't care what you think. And that fact is so constantly present -- both in the leaderships' actions and (more importantly) their non-actions. I sit in this office, I see these faces. You won't find many happy ones in our wing of the building these days. I've watched the culture completely erode from the 20th floor. We used to be a family. I used to know my co-workers on my team. Now you're a cog in the machine, period. You don't matter. Your opinion doesn't matter. They'll sit in front of you and pretend to listen to you, but ultimately you don't matter. They don't care about you. a few more "dang, that's an unfortunate truth they're ignoring" for you: -Nobody outside of your department is going to know your name. Unless you're one of the smokers or something, you might as well be chained to your desk. -You'll be stuck at that desk because management still hasn't cracked the 12+ month long mystery of staffing (and/or managing) this department. -I mean it. you're going to be behind. all the time. Like, "Mandatory Overtime in August, September, October, January" behind. -They don't care about where you're going to park. -They don't care about giving you a meaningful contribution to your 401k. -They don't care about paying you a competitive wage, and you can forget about a raise. -You will experience a requested time-off "freeze" -You will face mandatory overtime, upwards of 10 hours a week. This has happened several times since August and there is no end in sight. -What's worse is they'll still throw around laughable phrases like "work-life balance" like they really care about your life outside of what you can do for them. -You will work on the second shift several times a week, whether it hinders your individual job responsibilities or not... in the name of uniformity. -You will face incompetent, impersonal, cliquey management, and they will smile in your face like you're a moron. -Severe miscommunication on all levels, top-down. God forbid you have a question because you'll run it by several people over the course of several hours to get your answer. This is definitely, definitely, definitely a job where people are afraid to speak out or voice concern in-person. It's the type of environment where I honestly feel like I would get reprimanded or even fired for voicing my concerns. A lot of people seem to feel this way. I am not writing this as a "Screw You Company" revolt -- this company is doing a great job of ruining itself all on its own. I am writing this for any young adult who is serious about entering the workforce for a company that will nurture you, RESPECT YOU, and work alongside you: you will not find that here. And frankly, I am concerned about the timing of some of the more recent "Positive" reviews on here.. they're coming during a particularly turbulent time in the company and it rubs me as deceptive -- again, that's the type of company you're walking into. stay away, we're barely keeping afloat

Pros

They are still able to employ some people which is good. Especially during this time.

Cons

Too many to name, here are the ones that never seem to go away: * Revolving door of workers. Very high turnover. I would say 100 have quit or been fired since 2019, and that's before they recent layoffs which are over 70. * The revolving door also includes leadership, which is the core of the issues there. The people running most departments have been at the company for less than a year, some a year and a half. The ones that are still there are remote/out of state or stay in their office to avoid questions. * The issues they had two years ago are still issues today. Because the leadership doesn't know how, or care how to fix them. * They have been re-platforming for 2 years, and they are already a few months behind schedule. Don't see this finished project coming out any time soon. I assume this is one of the many decisions and factors that has caused issues financially, even before COVID (which made these issues impossible to hide, so the layoffs were the next step).

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Due to the unprecedented economic and business impact surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the decision to layoff employees was not an easy one. We value the contribution of all those impacted and are committed to providing resources to help manage their transition as appropriate and we wish them all well in their future endeavor.
