Pros

I was told by my manager to pad my billable hours, a practice that would be considered unethical in most other industries. But the advantage of that is that I could finish some projects ahead of time and take unscheduled breaks or time off. It was fully remote, which works for some people. (I'm not personally a fan.) Clients are big household names, which is great to put on a resume. But that's about it. Audienz has a habit of bending over backwards to accommodate clients, often at the expense of the writers and consultants.

Cons

The culture was extremely competitive. Consultants don't work well together, and they tend to throw us writers under the bus if the client didn't love every single little thing about the products we gave them. Each consultant team or practice area had a completely different workflow and workstream, and we writers were expected to just automatically learn and plug into that. It was nigh unto impossible to completely please everyone we worked with. Everyone was trying to show off their marketing and business knowledge by throwing around constant jargon with my team, which only served to confuse rather than clarify. My manager was never supportive but instead constantly critical. It was clear she didn't want to see me in my role for very long. Upper management experienced a lot of turnover with the acquisition from the Channel Company, and a lot of people have been jumping ship lately.

Pros

I've been working here a little over a year and have enjoyed it immensely. And that was even before the company started experiencing rapid growth and was acquired. It's still a great place to work after that, and to say I've learned a lot is almost an understatement. - Excellent work culture, little to no toxicity and lots of support from teammates and managers both professionally and personally - Cultivated consulting approach takes with projects; enough process to stay organized but enough flexibility to allow for new ideas or suggestions (this might vary per team) - Support for remote employees, even before the pandemic - Growth-oriented mindset without being too "ooh-rah" or sales-crazy. - Leadership has demonstrated they care about employees consistently; bonuses, holidays, regular communication, and fun company events - Regular internal training and workshops, robust knowledge base - The people here are smart and care about the quality of their work, strive to maintain good, positive relationships with customers and vendors - Decent vacation and PTO, lunch reimbursement, company provided devices are up to date and managed well by IT - Company that acquired Audienz has been supportive during transition, and Audienz functions independently as it did before, for the most part - Strong tech and marketing background among employees

Cons

They typical cons you might find at a smaller, growing company, but in my opinion nothing deal-breaking: - Health benefits could be better in terms of cost (options are good); potential for future improvement here with recent growth but not certain - 401K matching is minimal, if at all - Not a lot of unified software for company use outside of Microsoft 365, lots of tracking done in spreadsheets - Each teams does things differently, so sometimes work styles clash though not often - Little transparency around how bonuses are calculated and earned - You're given a lot of independence as an employee, so if you don't work well autonomously then you might struggle - No established office, company uses shared workspaces and allows remote work

Pros

The team and culture are fantastic. Everyone is willing to lend you a hand, and no work seems to be "beneath" anyone, no matter the title.Remote work is ingrained in the culture, as the team was doing it long before Covid. Leadership makes it a priority to care about everyone's health and well-being, and DEI at Audienz isn't just a buzzword. There is also a culture of learning and ample opportunities to grow. With respect to clients, it's a great environment when clients look forward to our meetings and are excited by our work. I see the recent acquisition by The Channel Company as a positive, in which benefits improved (401k matching now offered, additional insurance options, extra holidays, etc.) and many synergies were identified. All of the Audienz team and leadership are intact.

Cons

There's still some slight ambiguity around long-term plans around the acquisition and it would be great to hear from The Channel Company's leadership more frequently. Like anything in consulting, you can get pretty busy, but your team and management are always there to help you if you raise your hand. Outside of that, it is respected if you tend to keep to a standard schedule.
