Pros

We were all excited when we heard Boecore was coming in on the SEWSII contract. (I'm an existing SEWSI employee). Boecore even held an Open House so we all could get to know one another and were very welcoming. I loved my job at SEWS, it was very rewarding.

Cons

Then Boecore came in and didn't keep ANY of the Cybersecurity employees, a total of six of us, currently on contract. Boecore bumped us and brought in their own people (probably from some other contract they just lost). We were all hoping to transition with Boecore..so so sad!

Thank you very much for providing your feedback and bringing your experience to our attention. We strive to create a culture that puts our employees first, and we appreciate your interest in joining the Boecore team and your passion for your work. The SEWS II transition has involved a lot of moving parts and we realize that we could have done a better job at communicating our long-term program timeline with the incumbent team. Although we had two cybersecurity positions to fill initially, we anticipate having several additional cyber opportunities on the program in the near future. We welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with you to hear more about your interest in Boecore. Additionally, we are constantly looking to hire the best talent we can to serve our customers. Please contact our Recruiter, Laura Huntington at laura.huntington@boecore.com so that we can schedule a time for you to meet with our SEWS II team to share your capability and learn more about the future cyber opportunities on the program.

Pros

If you work on contract, the culture is based on the contract you work. You will be treated very well by Boecore leadership on contract. People genuinely want to do a good job. Boecore is a staffing company for Northrop and other primes so there is plenty of work!

Cons

Layoffs. They recently laid off a well loved leader at corporate due to budget. Because of their budget issues, people are jumping ship. There seems to be consistent layoffs so far from January to now. If you decide to take a job here, it’s a gamble as to whether you will last a year. Diversity. Company says they are diverse, but women and minorities are not promoted above director level. There aren’t currently any minorities at the Director level. Infighting within the leadership team. They don’t seem to support the CEO and her decisions? This is based on comments that I have heard recently from executives. They make promises for pay raises and promotions that don’t occur. When you find another job elsewhere, the CEO personally offers a giant raise to keep you…. Which shows that your value is based on what other companies can offer to pay you. This is based on recent conversations with people leaving…. Which doesn’t make sense since they constantly lay people off due to budget which shows they can’t effectively manage the budget. Only executives can make decisions. Delegation and empowering leaders to lead their areas does not occur here. When I needed something done, it had to go all the way up to an executive for a decision. When we are in meetings, the directors aren’t able to own their areas unless there is a failure. Then it is their fault.

At Boecore, we have a credo: “Do the right thing the right way, time after time”. This credo is written on the wall of our conference room and drives who we are and what we do. It is part of our corporate fabric. It is very unfortunate you left Boecore as an unhappy employee as our goal is to ensure every current and former employee has a positive experience at Boecore. Difficult decisions are made daily by the executive leadership team and are not always understood by our employees. It became apparent, we needed to make a staff adjustment by reducing a member of our staff. Layoffs are never taken lightly and Boecore always strives to make any change with a positive outcome for the business and for our employees. Traditionally, working at Boecore is quite stable. Our average tenure is 5 years across our workforce. Currently, Boecore has 29 contracts with the DOD, DHS and OPM, our budget is healthy, and we continue to grow. We have XX new opportunities that allow our employees to transition to other programs to grow their careers when desired. Diversity is one of our core values and we always strive to hire the most qualified candidate with the strongest skills for each position posted. Forty-four percent (44%) of our employees are veterans from all backgrounds, genders, and races. Overall, we have 39% women and minorities in our workforce. Hiring a diverse workforce is a high priority for us. Making promises we can’t keep is not something we do at Boecore. During our annual employee survey, 95% of our employees stated they were happy working for Boecore and would recommend Boecore as a place to work. We are disappointed to read negative posts about our company because we work hard to make it a great place to work and we are always open to employee’s suggestions for change, especially when it comes to making improvements. As former President Lincoln once said: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” If you are reading this review of Boecore, we encourage you to read the additional reviews of Boecore on Glassdoor to learn more about what a great company we are and how our employees enjoy working here.

Pros

Great people that work here.

Cons

Executive team lacks interaction with the rest of office staff. When suffering budget issues, cuts are made to staff instead reallocating money that was used for promotions and raises for other employees.
