Pros
Decent pay, many social events
Cons
My experience working at Automated Building and Energy Controls Ltd was deeply disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. From early on, there was a clear mismatch between what was promised verbally and what was delivered in practice. Key matters such as progression, performance expectations, and contractual terms were often unclear, and written confirmation was frequently absent despite being requested. Support from HR and senior management was poor. When issues were raised professionally and in good faith, they were often met with defensiveness rather than resolution. Internal policies were applied inconsistently, and there was little sense of accountability when concerns were highlighted. The situation deteriorated significantly when I resigned. The offboarding process was chaotic and confrontational. Rather than working constructively to resolve matters, the company withheld my final wages, failed to provide clear evidence when requested, and repeatedly escalated matters prematurely. This created an extremely stressful experience at a time when support and clarity should have been prioritised. I made multiple attempts to resolve matters amicably and transparently, but these efforts were largely ignored. As a result, I was forced to seek external support to protect my contractual rights. I would strongly advise prospective employees to: • ensure everything important is confirmed in writing, • fully understand contractual clauses before joining, • and be cautious about relying on verbal assurances. In my view, ABEC’s internal culture does not support employees adequately, particularly when challenges arise. I would not choose to work for this company again.
