You can't just come in and do your work. The office politics are horrible. People would try to push their tasks on you and lie about it. HR lies to you and about you. Fake friendly to you, but if you are not smiling like a Cheshire cat 24/7 (because that is not the personality God gave you) then something is wrong. My manager was rude and would talk about me behind my back and roll eyes as if I were stupid and didn't know. Very unprofessional. There are major growing pains because they are trying to change processes that should have been updated years ago. But, they are trying to remediate this before it gets too bad. They pick and choose who can wfh. Some managers use lame excuses to wfh (taking care of kids, pets, house issues) when it is not true but get upset if you want to. I was severely underpaid but stayed for building experience to make a better market rate salary elsewhere.
