Backbone was an easy-going place to work; friendly and talented people with similar goals in mind -- make fun games. Plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and shine as an employee.
Cons
Work-life balance was out of whack often. Once management was brought in to address that issue, it was too late. Morale had suffered, and the cycle of chasing projects to make payroll seemed to have taken it's toll. Like many developers of its size, multiple layoff rounds were needed to try and save the company.
