Pros
The company is driven top down by the founders who are technical and completely get the issues associated with quality software engineering. So there are no wildly unrealistic goals and understanding when things don't quite go according to plan. The team is helpful to each other, again a culture brought about from the top, if each developer was being measured purely on points done there wouldn't be the cooperative atmosphere that exists at BaseKit. The development process is good in terms of running Jenkins to automatically test and build our feature environments, peer review and finally QA processes.
Cons
As a team development could probably document better. There's quite a learning curve for new developers but this is tempered by the helpful culture.

Pros
I'm really enjoying working at BaseKit! Friendly mid-sized company. Small enough to have the small-company-get-things-done vibe, but large enough to avoid startup-scale-burnout working. Management style is open, honest and approachable, and the current direction of the company is clear with weekly updates. The culture seems to be genuinely open to ideas for changing working practices, processes or technologies. Trying new things is encouraged. Plenty of interesting technical challenges to solve on a product that's constantly moving forward at a good pace but with enough capacity to reduce technical debt where appropriate. The social side of company life is fun and inclusive, even when the whole company is working remotely due to covid-19. Definitely a company I'd recommend to friends!
Cons
Benefits package includes a great healthcare package, but doesn't include life insurance. Not a showstopper for me, but worth knowing about.
