Pros

• One of the recent reviews here from July references a lot about being able to work from home, which is true. However this creates a very unpleasant (and empty) office most of the time, when you are expected to come into the office. It’s not a welcoming environment or somewhere you’d look forward to coming to when you have to. Home-working a double-edged sword. The review is initiated largely to boost the score of Basware on Glassdoor I suspect, more than anything. • The weekly social events are dull and no one comes to them - this tells you all you need to know about the harmony within the business– it’s ok if you like crisps and a couple of drinks but you can find that anywhere nearby. • Progression is possible, but it takes a lot of rubbing shoulders with the right people.

Cons

• Lack of ability to project manage throughout the organization, and too much politics rather than focus on what needs to be done, and get it done. No prioritization just a huge jumbled mess with no structure • Lack of understanding what goes on below the C level and listening to the issues, let alone dealing with them – more focus on planning ahead and failing to deal with the issues left behind – insomuch as decorating the house before finishing the foundations all the time • Always losing out to the competition – the pricing structure is really complex and the failure to gain positive customer success stories is Basware’s downfall. Transformation revenue is the focus of the business to hold up the revenue for the company as net new customer acquisition is largely under target. Basware has a very low NPS score compared to it’s competitors • It is publicly known that the company is in discussions about a potential buy-out from a competitor which will create uncertainty but the buy-out will not be 100% confirmed either way until early 2019. • Reviews are a paperwork exercise, if they are done at all • Basware is always in a transformation, which is not a bad thing, but this creates a lack of job security and also a lack of knowing what the business really needs from its employees. • Too much expected from a small resource pool in most teams – don’t think that you’ll be doing the expected 40 hours a week in the UK, unless you are really low down the chain • There’s generally a really negative feeling within the company, high staff turnover, and arguments and team-infighting are commonplace – poor communication, poor skill levels, poor management, lack of direction, and general lack of motivation across the organization. • Management are only transparent about the things they want to let you know about, not the things which they don’t. • The company has grown out of control and doesn’t know how to fix itself now

Pros

- Comparatively well-paid - Finnish team were great to work with - Dynamic environment

Cons

- Lacklustre leadership from non-Finnish marketing senior management, with petty in-fighting among executives - Vague strategy loaded with the latest buzzwords, which meant nothing - Atmosphere of bullying and sniping

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed working with many of our team members and thrived in the Baswarean dynamic environment; this is a part of our rich culture that we are very proud of. It was also good to learn you were able to enjoy a good level of compensation. However, you do sound somewhat frustrated with the senior management team outside of Finland, and we are disappointed to hear that you suggested there was an atmosphere of bullying and sniping within your department. This is something Basware takes very seriously and is most certainly dealt with. It is unfortunate you did not take advantage of the many channels communicated and made available to all Baswareans to raise their concerns whilst you were employed. Thank you for your contribution whilst working for Basware and we would like to wish you success in your new role.

Pros

Amazing product and use to have a good customer presence

Cons

Unfortunately once what was a good company is now not a healthy place to work. Lack of service to the client. Bas customer satisfaction, multiple wrong decisions led to a stagnant product. Not a good company to work for.
