Pros

Living in Florida was nice! Most people I worked with in my corporate department were great!

Cons

I was fired via an email, not even given the decency of a phone call by my boss. It's not like Bealls was laying off 40K employees like larger corporations did...30% of my department which is only 7 people were fired. Ask yourself if you want to work for a company that can't personally call 7 individuals to fire them but instead opt to just send an email. I was fired not due to my personal performance but to the fact the company was 'restructuring' during the COVID19 pandemic. This happened 2 days after an email was sent about the future of everyone's job being OK for the next 2 weeks until April 30th. If you enjoy being in a work environment that doesn't hide the fact promotions are based on favoritism over experience or skill level than apply. Compensation was well below industry standard. The 401K company contribution is basically non-existent.

Pros

Absolutely none!! You get a 20% employee discount, but you save more using the coupons (by the way you can not combine your employee discount with the coupons so the employee discount is pointless)

Cons

Everything about this company is awful!! (And I am speaking as a manager) First, the working environment is awful (and hostile) at times. As a manager you have to pressure the sales people to get credit (every min of every day!), you need to be relentless, and dont forget to email you sales numbers and the number of credits (on an hourly basis to corp. or you will have evryone calling you). The regionals you are (well lets just say they are very nasty people) they come to you store and blasting you on everything they can (the T-shirts need to be folded perfectly cubed, the payroll is too high, there is not enough merch on the floor "flex flex flex". They send out threating emails saying "you will lose you job if this or that is not done immediately!! The sales associate are rude to the managers, customers and each other. The pay for management is the lowest in the industry after a year (you might get a $500 increase if you lucky). Managers have been there 3 & 4 years and they are making only a thousand or two then managers that just started. Sales associates love to complain about "everything" so as a manager you will get blamed for "everything" a lot of drama and "he said" "she said" goes on. Of course everyone is afraid of customer complaints and lawsuits so the customers (and salespeople) pretty much get whatever they want. The technology is so outdated it is a joke. There are literilly registers that have got scotch tape holding them together and they go down on a daily basis - you will be on the phone for an hour a day or more with IT. The customers will drive you crazy about the coupons, bealls bucks and anything else they can get for free. I don't know if they are a good company to work for back then but they certainly are not now!! Definately stay away - there are too many other places to work that are far better.

Pros

I no longer work for this toxic company.

Cons

In the middle of the covid crisis they laid off multiple people across the organization through an email.... Even after being told days earlier everyone's jobs was safe and that we would get through this together. Even before covid the morale of the planning and allocation department was low. This is a merchant led organization led by an individual who is out of touch with the staff and customer needs. If you are a brainless yes man, then this company is for you. If you have original out of the box ideas they will be dismissed. Individuals are overworked, overlooked, and beaten down. The pay and benefits of this "family valued" organization are far below industry standards. They try to sell the Florida lifestyle to get new blood (turnover is high) but with the lack of pay being able to afford the ridiculously overpriced housing/living costs (nevermind the traffic) is tough. There are other retailers out there that will treat you with respect and value you, choose them before this company.
