Pros

Really amazing work culture (I am genuinely happy to go to work everyday) The work is never boring. The work is highly meaningful, and everyone is very committed to it. The upper management is all great - down to earth, competent, smart, friendly. Extremely flexible working schedules.

Cons

A lot of work--to much to be done in a 40 hour work week. Salary is not great. Standard benefits are included, but you will pay a lot out of pocket for health/vision/dental Really poor dependent coverage

Pros

Thoroughly enjoyed my time working here - the work is important, the people are great and genuinely care about each other. Beyond 12 draws in people who are seriously committed to antiracism and equity, and puts in the work to always keep that focus at the forefront. The coach role is a great entry level role that provides a lot of opportunities for recent college grads to develop a mix of soft and technical skills. They value work life balance and allow for autonomy over scheduling as long as there is clear communication.

Cons

The the coach role doesn't provide a structured path toward growth (within the company or out) and the contract is for 2 years maximum (unless another offer comes, but this of course can't be guaranteed). This is because they value keeping coaches close in age to their students, but puts the coaches (who are usually recent college grads) in a tricky position of needing to start looking for a new job when they're just about 1 year in if they want to be safe. When I was there, the annual salary was just a little above minimum wage, which is very difficult to live on in the Bay area. There was no room for negotiation there
