A great place to work

Pros

Great technology managed by experienced, friendly, and helpful senior software engineers. I actively look forward to work and the interesting challenges I’m lucky enough to work on each day. Opportunities to pair program. Personal development focused on a lot. Very supportive of those that need it by the software engineers. Regular opportunity to speak with management with weekly one to ones and monthly meetings with the VP of Engineering. I feel listened to and like my perspective matters. Four day working week provides great work-life balance. Work from home the majority of the week. Good perks: health insurance, dental cover, monthly shopping vouchers, and around three big social events a year.

Cons

The salaries don’t keep pace with the market, especially if you’re not a new hire. The benefits and culture are really great, but they don’t put food on the table. Pension is statuary minimum. No reliable bonus. No equity scheme.

It's great to hear you're enthusiasm toward your work. We totally agree that the work is rewarding and presents exciting opportunities for all teams. We've worked hard to create a benefit offering that elevates each employee and we understand what is important to one team member may not be to another. This is where our 'take your pick' benefits supports different needs, including the opportunity to enhance pension payments. We're shortly rolling out a career framework that will support current and future hires with transparency around payscale (and progression). This is in addition to the already in-place monthly one to one's and yearly appraisals encouraging conversations around financial reward, performance, and progression. Dysfunctional Management

Cons

Extremely dysfunctional senior management who are simply unable to communicate to their team effectively, or show empathy - Micromanaging - Progression non existent unless your face fits.

Thanks for sharing your comments with us. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the colleagues around you, we certainly agree with have a great team and it's nice to see recognition for our team members. As a former employee, you may not be aware of the changes we've recently introduced supporting progression via our career framework. The framework allows for clear and transparent conversations focused on the development and supports each team member at the level they are operating, allowing for growth in all and every position (if desired). We're in an exciting phase of growth with our strategy and products evolving to accommodate industry changes, we understand a fast-moving environment isn't for everyone, but most of our team members find this part of our journey rewarding. Being the leader in the data management area we recognise we're doing something right with our customer support strategy and would challenge the comments you have referenced around our approach although we do want to acknowledge your comments and should you feel comfortable too we welcome an offline conversation. We've also been working hard to support Senior Management in their position as leaders and as such have introduced learning and development opportunities both internally and via external channels/resources to ensure each manager is aware of different individual styles and learning preferences.
