Pros

Ok pay for the market

Cons

Benefits are awful! The out of pockets are horrid, if you have a family and need coverage you cant afford it through this company. There is no work life balance, The hours are insane. Holidays for sites are different then corporate. You will work Easter while the corporate office will be closed for even good Friday.

I am sorry that you feel this way. We offer various benefits packages (including five medical plans) so that employees can choose a comprehensive package that fits both their personal needs and budget. We also provide company-paid dental and life insurance at no cost to each employee. We are open regular business hours M-F and Saturdays and Sundays 10-6, however any employee who works the weekend is given two days off during the week and schedules includes daily lunches. I encourage you to speak with your regional manager if you need a religious accommodation at any time throughout the year; we are more than happy to provide that and always work with our employees’ scheduling needs as much as possible. We observe all major holidays at our properties and pay 1.5x regular pay in addition to holiday pay on any holiday worked. I encourage you to reach out to me so that we can personally review your benefits selections and schedule. Please email me directly at jzientarski@beztak.com. Pros

Ok leasing commissions, easy paperwork process, very little responsibility.

Cons

Moving up is difficult depending on your regional. Unfortunately my regional slept with staff and then promotes to protect himself. Selling "upgraded" apartments is difficult when the design you pick is outdated. The previous comments about the "in crowd" is completely right. You work more holidays then other companies yet corporate office celebrates all holidays.

Placing Employees At Risk

Pros

When times are good, Beztak is a fair employer that offers flexible hours, PTO, and generous pay and opportunities to advance, depending on the position.

Cons

When times are bad, like they are now under the threat of a global pandemic, Beztak's true colors show. They do not seem to value the work or even the lives of their employees. Right now, there is a Beztak senior living facility in West Bloomfield, MI where there have been two dozen confirmed COVID-19 cases and almost a dozen deaths. In response to this, Beztak has done NONE of the following: reduce staff onsite to prevent virus transmission, including mandating staff who can do their work remotely do their work from home; provide appropriate PPE for staff required to be onsite for the operation of services; generously expanded their sick leave policy; or provide hazard pay for staff required to be onsite. What Beztak HAS done: mandate that ALL staff members, even non-essential staff that could easily do their work remotely, be present on the property for business as usual; with no PPE available, tell staff to use rubber bands and foot covers as facemasks when checking on residents; expand sick leave by only 5 days with a doctor's excuse; provide a very small bonus on only one paycheck to act as a reward for staff placing their lives in danger every day we report to work; be opaque with staff and residents' families about the COVID-19 outbreak, including not telling staff members rooms where COVID-19 residents are staying so they can take proper precautions. This is not only disappointing, its actually unacceptable.

We are incredibly proud of the valued associates that continue to provide a comfortable living environment for the senior citizens that choose to call us home, and we have taken multiple actions as a company to minimize risk and show appreciation, many of which have been mentioned above. Through proactive measures including complimentary additional PTO being given to all associates, elimination of all direct contact, bonuses for those serving this fragile population, reduced staffing levels that remain in place as of today, ample communication about safe social distancing/best practices and more, all of our associates have remained diagnosis free. At all senior living communities, we must continue minimizing both mental and physical risks for our residents. This will require the continued efforts of our valued group of dedicated associates. Should any individual associate feel uncomfortable despite the efforts in place, all of which have been favorably reviewed with the Oakland County Health Department and OSHA, they are absolutely encouraged to communicate with human resources directly to discuss other options.
