Pros

While I was there they were developing their junior sales team. They put a lot of effort into the business development team with thorough training on both the sales and technical side of the house. The compensation was very competitive for the position and geographical area.

Cons

After the introductory training was over it was very much a smile and dial type of atmosphere which, I suppose is indicative of sale. The real issues started to happen when you had put the time and effort in and was expecting a promotion and they hung you out on the line for a while. When they did end up promoting you the expectation for gross profit was very large and almost unattainable. They also did not allow enough time for you to attain the gross profit goals. In IT sales the sales cycle can be very long from 6months to a year. When they want you to pull in 100K in gross profit (1M) in good and services in less than nine months with a cold list of leads it become difficult and a bit discouraging. Soon after I left they dissolved the business development and junior sales team.

Pros

Work from home is a pro.

Cons

Management requires slow work, so they can bill for more hours - silo'd and lack insight.

We are sorry to hear you have come away with this impression, and a bit perplexed. At this time, our professional services team is very well utilized and if anything the pace is invigorating at times. We have a lot of technical growth projects for our team and at times rely on external partners since we can not meet the internal demand due to the pace that the team is executing on. We are certainly not perfect but are always looking to make continual improvements. We do recognize that there have been times that each part of our business is not as coordinated as we’d like. During our strategic company kick off we made a commitment that services will become a continuum and silos will become a thing of the past. On a related note we are making a change to our company communications approach to incorporate divisional town halls rather than just company wide meetings. Our hope is that this new forum will allow for more discussion and feedback and ensure that we are always listening.

Pros

nice small town feel for headquarters

Cons

Don't take care of their people in the field for new reps, resources are limited, upper management politics pushes down easily on reps since it's a small company. Expect results very fast when ramping up in sales. If you don't already have a book of business walking in, this will be a hard job. Expectations are high, and not a lot of room for prospecting. If you're in Maine you have more support since you're at headquarters.
