Pros

Diverse and friendly staff Interesting job Adequate work-life balance

Cons

Toxic corporate culture: -People at field offices were treated as robots and Blue Orchard didn't care either about their motivation or about their development. -Human Resources department didn't have any authority over the senior management which created an environment, where junior employees were left with no means to raise their concerns or complaints. Moreover, HR department acted as a puppet who was supporting the exploitation of the people. -People were more easily promoted not based on their skills, talent, or progress throughout the year, but rather based on their relationships with the senior management, which made the hard-working and talented staff quit the company. -I had to spend a lot of time playing "Game of Thrones" to protect my interests within the organization, which left no room for me to be open and express my career goals freely. No room for growth: -When I joined, I expected to grow like bamboo but grew like a bonsai tree. There were no performance evaluation criteria, and your performance was solely based on how obedient you were to your boss. -I had to fight for two weeks of vacation every time to prepare for the CFA exams and I was portrayed as an irresponsible employee for doing so -After expressing that I wanted to move to another department, I was no longer treated as a member of the existing department and was expected to move as soon as possible. Compensation: -Salary wasn't competitive and reflective of the responsibilities and talent of the employees. -Your achievements during the year were usually neglected and you would not get a raise unless you engaged in the unpleasant salary negotiation process every year.
