Great company, terrible department

Pros

The company as a whole is fantastic. Great emphasis on feedback and working together. People across the company are very close knit.

Cons

Do not join the marketing team. That department has serious issues, most of which stem from an inefficient and petty leader. The rest of the company rewards based on competency and hard work, but getting ahead on the marketing team is all political.

Pros

Free food or discounted food depending on which brand you support.

Cons

Would encourage applicants to think twice before joining the marketing department. The team is VERY political, the leader picks favorites, has a history of sharing information about individuals that should not be shared with subordinates and does not reward based on hard work and talent. If you are someone who enjoys networking and building fake relationships with colleagues this could be a good fit for you. There are some (not all) people in management positions that shouldn’t be; the leader is all about making select people that are in her crowd happy even if they are not qualified. There have been several layoffs, the company is unstable and moral is low.

Thank you so much for your feedback and we are so sorry for the belief that was created for you. We truly believe in cultivating the best work environment and hope that we can provide you more clarity. The new structure you referred to ensures that we are well-organized to leverage our resources more effectively and prioritize our efforts to help reduce complexity, ensure clarity in roles, and improve efficiency in decision-making. As part of the restructure, we were proud to announce Steve Provost as our new EVP of Marketing this past March. Steve brings with him a wealth of knowledge, leadership and experience that not only better serves our Guests but also our teams. We are excited to see the brand and his team continue to grow under his leadership. With all of that said -- we hear you, we see more through your feedback and want to learn more. We encourage you to reach out to your PeopleWorks partner, if you are comfortable with doing that. Thank you again for taking the time to give us your review and feedback!
