    Pros

They care about their staff. Always in hand to listen if you have work/personal issues

    Cons

Was better when it was Broadcom version 1, not so good when Broadcom was bought out

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work

I worked at Broadcom full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good flexible employer, excellent colleagues and good salary

    Cons

Expected to work hard - weekends and evening when necessary. Enjoyed working for the company much less after the Avago takeover.

    Advice to Management

There is more to a company than the bottom line

zero career prospects specially in satellite sites

I worked at Broadcom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great colleagues
    - Superb site in Cambridge
    - Interesting technology

    Cons

    - Lack of institutional will to be at cutting edge of technology --- always trying to follow along cheaper. The trouble is, that's much harder than running a proper tick-tock cycle and getting your budget offerings almost "for free".
    - Poor senior management; confused and unstable strategy seemed mostly focussed on massaging the balance sheet.
    - Questionable future under new owners.

    Advice to Management

Clearer vision and stronger investment in technology and capabilities.

I worked at Broadcom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Company, great management team, and a very relaxed working environment.
The interview was fairly straight forward; questions about Transistors VHDL and integrated circuits, D flip flops

    Cons

since acquired by Avago, headcounts decreased but that's to be expected

I have been working at Broadcom (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work colleagues are helpful and friendly - very sociable for an Engineering company.

    Cons

Since the take over various cost cutting measures have been brought in - some seem to having a negative effect on the ability to carry out work

    Advice to Management

Sending a baseball cap and glass water bottle to every employee at a time when making redundancies to cut costs/improve profit margins sends out a rather mixed message.
