Pros
The staff are some of the best people I’ve ever worked with.
Cons
Will sell you a dream in your interview, it’s all lies. Unachievable targets and KPI targets. Director of sales has 0 people/communication skills and runs the place like his own ego project. Any team morale has been decimated by director of sales’ approach and lunacy. Your interview will be conducted by this person and every word will be a lie. To quote director of sales “Time on the phone is more important than actual sales and bringing in business for the company”. Receive little to no training when you start and left sat with nothing to do or no assistance for weeks on end.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Brookson strives to provide a positive and nurturing environment for its employees with directors and senior managers working alongside the wider workforce, welcoming ideas and feedback. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do, therefore we would always encourage time spent on the phone developing and building relationships with our customers. We are constantly reviewing our training and coaching programs to ensure everybody can learn and develop to best suit their skills. We agree that we have some amazing employees at Brookson, ones that we would always want to retain and help progress in their chosen career but we do understand that sometimes people move on and when they do we wish them well. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you want to discuss any of the points you have made in more detail.

Pros
The Christmas parties are usually good. Nice people that try to help each other within the teams.
Cons
Really poor management. Not enough time or support invested in making good managers which leads to them being overwhelmed and unable to support the team. Some managers in customer services had serious knowledge gaps and try to hide them or divert the questions to others. Managers very rarely at their desks as working projects for the head of the department rather than leading and investing time in their teams. Very rarely see any senior management and director is unapproachable despite often trying to give the impression that he is. Will come up with mad schemes every so often to help customers but don’t ask the people that do the job for their opinions and will force things even if it is obvious it isn’t working. Really poor progression. No clear routes which leads to them losing good staff. Lack of diversity across the company. Whilst throwing free food about is great that isn’t enough to keep staff. Mental health first aiders woefully undertrained.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We always value feedback from our people, and are always open to ideas on how and where we can improve our working environment. We have invested in leadership programmes to ensure managers at all levels are able to support and develop their people. As a business we have always welcomed employee feedback and have established forums where ideas can be discussed and acted upon. Clear career pathways have been established based on feedback and our desire to be the best employer. We recognise the huge importance of Mental Wellbeing and have qualified Mental Health First Aiders across most areas of our business, this is something we will continue to develop and promote. It's good to hear that you enjoyed the social events while with Brookson, we really feel they are key in uniting our people and providing a great culture.
