Pros

Benefits of NH State position; quality of insurance coverage, pension, time off. Union membership optional, worker in most departments were very friendly.

Cons

Hierarchy was incredible; high stress, low rewards or recognition for your dedication, low pay compared to most everywhere else. Some department heads lived in their own world, did not care about time constraints and personnel limitations.

Pros

Can rarely ever get fired

Cons

Poor performance can't be dealt with because of union strictness. Union focus takes away from actually trying to be successful and impact students

Pros

work life balance is good, weekends are free.

Cons

The Chancellors' office does not value its faculty. The union contract ended in June and there has not been a new one since. There has been minimal effort to reach and agreement with minimal meetings. Faculty are vastly underpaid and are expected to volunteer their time in addition to working underpaid hours.
