Sales - commission only. Installers - commission only. Poor training constant errors. If a mistake is made you eat it. Same goes for the installers. If you sell a design and you measure wrong, it may take weeks for it to be corrected and you don't get paid until the client pays. Competition uses real computers with easy to use drawing software and laser measurements. CBD uses pencils and paper and tape measures. And not one designer does it the same way.
Plus your selling laminated pressed particle board as if it were a high end item. It's basically Ikea.
Plus one tactic is you have to pitch the sale and draw for 2 hours in a clients home to basically guilt them into buying.
Also, If you drive 160 miles round trip to a client and they don't buy, you get nothing. No milage, no phone, no reimbursement for any expenses you incur. Yet they refuse to make commissioned employees 1099. At least that way you could write off those expenses. But as an employee you cannot.
Also, They constantly advertise that designers can make over $80,000. Maybe 1% do after years of being there and working off their own referrals. The other 99% make very little due to that they give the best leads to the top designers. The rest get very little because they are only there to cover their precious never miss an appointment %. The turnover is like McDonald's.
