Great Company to Work For

Pros

Small teams; You know everyone you work with. Wholly-owned by Shell Oil, employees receive most of the benefits of working for a Big Oil company such as Pension, the Provident Fund and bonuses (even hourly workforce gets annual bonus). While it is difficult to move into Shell, the opportunities are there if you network. Vacation is great for salary positions; 9/80 schedule gives you every other Friday off if you don't have special tasks to complete or meetings with visitors.

Cons

Wholly-owned by Shell Oil, so you get to deal with the bureaucracy of working for Big Oil. Sometimes policies are difficult to implement when there are no other Shell locations around to offer support.

Pros

Great people to work with, good work diversity, good benefits

Cons

Lately they have been cutting deep on people resources and are cutting even deeper now. The HR department seems to favor disciplining the salary over the hourly(union). Lack of home /work life balance and the new cuts make this even worse.
