Disgusting, hostile and abusive work place

Pros

You get free phone cases sometimes.

Cons

Case-mate claims that one of their values is respect, but they do not lead by example. This company does not understand what it means to have respect for their employees, or what it means to lead for that matter. Real leaders motivate their employees by appreciating, supporting and valuing them, unfortunately there is no leadership at Case-mate. The C-suit acts as if selling phone cases is a life or death business. They expect you to make this job your entire life so they can get their fat bonuses at the end of the year and pay for their Ferrari’s while the staff is severely over worked, under paid and under appreciated. They do not think twice about destroying spirits, motivation and self-worth. Have you ever had a grown man scream at you and have a temper tantrum over a very menial detail? I have, here. I love my actual job here, I love my team but I’ve never felt trusted or a sense of job security. The C-suit loves to target people to fire based on unjust biases and inaccurate data that they make up. Ive never been on the chopping block but I saw the threat of termination brought up against too many of my peers. Frankly it’s a disgusting, hostile work environment festering with toxic masculinity. They get involved in the lowest level of decisions but can’t think big picture to save their lives. They think a box of donuts once in a while will fix their company culture. Unfortunately this place is destined to be a revolving door of bright talent that leaves defeated and depressed. If you enjoy having all the creativity sucked out of you, feeling beat up and being a mind reader than go ahead take the job.

Pros

Lots of fun people work there. The company does a good job hiring. Funky, creative sub-culture makes things interesting. Owner is a fantastic salesman, but beware...

Cons

The luster wears off after a few months on the job. It is a very hostile environment. Employees get assaulted by the owner on a daily basis. Not many people go longer than a year or two at the company. Culture from the top is to hire young, work you to the bone, and move on to the next. Sometimes more experienced people get hired, but as soon as they train others, they are discarded. Very high employee turnover - rumored to be more than 30% every year. Low salaries throughout the company. Company thrived in the down economy when indentured service worked (no one could get another job and leave). Once the job market turned, voluntary terminations went rampant. Nearly a dozen directors and VPs have departed in the last year. Layoffs are also hitting due to financial stresses which are the result of the owner's erratic strategy and too many legal skirmishes resulting from questionable business dealings.

Pros

PTO, free cases, nothing else

Cons

Power hungry, old school executives that live in the past and can’t keep up with the times, inexperienced management. Very dysfunctional as a whole. Turnover rate is crazy. Employees were sent a survey to improve company culture and the results were awful. Nothing was done to improve on anything and instead they did the complete opposite. Like another review said most of the positive reviews on here are fake because they make us write them. 10/10 do not recommend. Reach out to former employees on linkedin before making a decision.
