Was a great company, that was a long long time ago though.
Pros
Some of the staff were ok to work with. Going home was always good :). Carpark space most of the time, although not so much when the building became overcrowded. Paid holiday, just the minimum amount given though. Some of the training was ok, but was more for show than useful.
Cons
Low morale amongst the majority of workers, both in the office and down below. Company used to be great, then all hell broke loose when it was taken over. Jack of all trades now, master of none. Creating a crowded work environment both in the office and warehouse. Merging many of its failing lines into the same building. Health and safety is of concern in many areas. Temporary workers have long been exploited here, promised the earth, and then given nothing time and time over this has been observed, training is not the best either sadly due to being more for show than useful. Regarding low morale there is an atmosphere of "that's not my job" in a lot of departments, staff don't really care anymore and are glad to go home at the end of the day. The few that do care are overloaded massively with work. A real shame. In the office staff are frequently played off against each other, rather than being a true team. For a lot of the management / directors it is all about "Image" a "game" if you will i.e. how they and the company appear to the customers that visit, rather than actually being the good company they are trying to portray. It is truly tragic to watch as an outsider. Although one suspects that many of the customers see through this charade. Would like to think they might learn over the years and turn things around for the better. I fear for some ex-colleagues though that this is just a dream and what you see is what you get.
