Pros

As a barista, it's mindless (but demanding) work. Easiest job you'll ever do behind bar. It's just an assembly line. You'll either be on register, whisking matcha, or steaming and pouring milk all day. Make sure you smile and have "good vibes".

Cons

There's no transparency in the company. A lot of lip service that there's room for growth and that they want your opinions and feedback but in reality they just give you a vague description of what could be next for you with no valid timeline or steps to get there. They have a "turn and burn 'em" mentality with hiring (yes, they use those words). They will over hire knowing that a quarter of hires won't be "a fit" (they don't dress the part or have the "cha cha vibes") and then just let them go with the excuse that they over hired and there's not enough hours.

Pros

Cha Cha Matcha hires quickly if you have an inside connection.

Cons

Cha Cha Matcha needs to respect and trust their employees. While Melkys Vargas worked with staff to ensure a healthy work environment and a trusting communication method, Pasang Sherpa is racist (to her South Asian and Hispanic employees), condescending, hypocritical, and unqualified for her job. The stores themselves operate on half (if not more) broken equipment, and expect employees who are already stretched extremely thin (in regards to scheduling) to operate on incredibly uncompetitive wages. The work environment is hostile, from manager positions to corporate and HR, and it should be of much greater concern that this company's turnover rate is so high. Cha Cha Matcha exploits its trusting employees and refuses to listen or change the glaring problems within its company that have resulted in its 14 million dollar debt.
