Pros

Good work and life balance (i.e. 8-9 hour workday). Company lunch every other Friday.

Cons

Salary is low and management is incompetent. Despite having the appearance of a large firm with 'experienced' employees, behind closed doors, employees are untrained and inexperienced. The firm does not cultivate an environment of continued education and is unwilling to invest in such activities (i.e. outside seminars, professional conferences). There exists an unrealistic expectation of generating your own clients and business. The attorneys in other locations scramble to obtain billable work because there's not enough work to go around. High turnover rate and employees are fired without a proper warning. If you're looking for growth and opportunities, you won't find it here.

Pros

'Free lunch' every other Friday

Cons

No advancement opportunities, if you are not of Indian decent you are treated like a lesser person, coworkers walk around barefoot, talk loudly, leave food on break room counters; the attorneys have very few clients and are extremely inexperienced, the majority of accounting clients are family members, the immigration department only handles cases for people of Indian origin and 'prefers' not to have to go to court, the 'higher ups' are unqualified to serve in their positions, as they were hired based on association, not experience or education. Pay is terrible for the work they expect you to do. The job description miraculously grows once you've actually started working with them. and usually includes such ridiculous things as stopping your work to fetch gallons of milk for the accounting team. They will promise a specific raise, but when the time comes around for said raise to go into effect, they either produce a long list of excuses as to why they can't afford it, or fabricate an even longer list of reasons to let you go.

Pros

Free lunch on Fridays and free fruit. Coworkers are nice and some have worked there a long time. You can get good experience here to start off, but that's about it if you actually have an accounting background.

Cons

Pay is not equal to market and is far below; they pay based on who you are and not your education or background. The higher ups show favoritism and give jobs to people just based on who they like. For instance, a girl was given "IT" duties but she doesn't have any IT experience. Management listens to certain employees and allows lower employees to influence management decisions if they like you more than other employees.
