Pros

They don't expect much of you, unlimited discretionary time off, opportunities for advancement/promotion.

Cons

Toxic culture, lack of visibility from management, boys club, 1/3 of the staff does nothing and get's paid double what the rest of us made, contributions are not recognized unless they are in service to the largest accounts, favoritism of staff for commission (people would be assigned to book loads for a number of small accounts and wouldn't have access to booking loads for bigger accounts so right off the bat they were screwed out of commission, say theres 2 carrier reps, 1 books 300 loads for a bunch of small accounts with no profit margins, doesn't make any comission. The person sitting next to them was assigned to book for a large account, books 200 loads and makes $20K comission that month. Makes no sense.) Unspoken understanding that if you arent working at least 50 hours a week you are lazy.

Pros

Ping pong tables, updated facility, young generation of employees

Cons

Unless you are part of the good old boys club, you're treated poorly. Your commission isn't paid out to you, they steal your commission. Very small salary, barely enough to live on. There is not any Human Resources staff so the company is ran unethically by two owners that believe they're puppet masters. Owners control everything and watch you from their offices that they can see out of but you cannot see into. There are camera in every nook and crevice so they can watch your every move and time your breaks. Benefits are expensive, no 401k match. "Management" have no Management experience or training. Blind leading the blind. They will make you work weekends, they don't tell you that in the interview. When you're new you have to work on all of the crappy freight, no real commission opportunity.

Pros

- this company was really fun to work for (for a time), culture was fantastic in late '21. The Thunder Dome (IKYK) was a sight to behold and legitimately a great place to work at. -you will learn a lot about logistics, sales or operations depending on your position -if you get extremely lucky or are in the right seat at the right time, doors can open for you in a big way

Cons

-you can and will be replaced at any moment, for no reason. -very cliquey culture, backstabbing, group chats, lots of substance abuse out in the open -toxic leadership will verbally berate you, kick chairs around, slam doors, watch your every move on camera, keep track of what time you log in the morning, "encourage" you to work off the clock despite already locking you into a desk for a 9 hour day. -carrier sales is some of the worst i've worked with although they are great people personally -they are actively trying to use your work to train their AI systems, so they can "nearshore" your job to Latin America while their AI picks up the slack. -extremely convoluted compensation plan that differs based on how many Fridays there are in a month. Seriously, in your interview ask about compensation plan details and watch them punt the ball.
