Pros

Not much. If you worked for Rackspace, you'll like this place and feel at home.

Cons

Management has changed out 5x in the past 2 years. The place is shockingly UN-organized and full of toxic drama. Pay is paltry and no raises. You'll deal with more drama at this place than actual work. A member of management was recently caught with his hand in the cookie jar hiring in his friend with benefits along with hiring in friends and bypassing the interview process. All managers came from Rackspace and work together to control employees while blinding the execs. Some of management has been hit with legal cease and desist orders from other companies for poaching employees from their previous workplace where they were the manager and they hired in their own past sub-ordinates they used to manage. Insurance isn't good. You wont hardly ever hit bonus to get paid out. They suggest they have unlimited vacation but it has to be approved. Since there is such a shortage of employees, you wont ever get anything approved due to staffing problems or people flat out making up excuses as to why they're not working and out of the office. There is no servant leadership management style that they preach exists. its pure micro-managing at its best and treating people like they're in kindergarten or entry level tech support. Many employees that are hired in are not even a good fit for the job and can hardly use a computer let alone do password resets or basic common tasks. Most of the time they attempt to delegate their work to you since they don't know how to do it themselves. They are just trying to hire bodies at this point to fill the need for the roles. hardly any documentation on anything at all. Promotions don't exist unless you were hired in as a Rackspace buddy of management and are heavily drinking the kool-aide while not doing your job. You will be forced to work whatever schedule fits their needs and not given a choice about it due to any work life balance stuff you have in mind.

Pros

Free canned soda. Unlimited payed time off (when allowed).

Cons

They have very disorganized leadership chain. Darin Brannan, while a nice guy, is very passive and lets everyone walk all over him. This place could benefit from a strong CEO. Everyone in the entire company fears changes and it shows. Leadership is driven by the bottom dollar and nothing more. Don’t be fooled when they tell you their mission is to make better healthcare. I would also say this company is hanging on by a thread. The amount of sloppy practice and unclear direction forces all leaders to push for answers now and a ‘we’ll fix it later’ approach. This also means that the many things pushed aside for later are rarely addressed, and when they are, it’s almost always subpar and rushed. Daily, you can cut the uncomfortable stress in the room with a knife. You can almost compare their ‘culture’ with Stockholm syndrome. Aside from the lax security policies, ClearDATA does not care to improve anything about the company. Improving a building does not improve the working environment or the outcomes for their customers. Ask anyone who works there about the unprofessional and questionable efforts around security. This extends beyond employee security practices. This is especially bad since they are in the business of health care security. To get talent in the door, they do offer higher pay than you would expect. Unfortunately, they have extremely expensive healthcare to go with it; expect to pay at least $300 a check for your healthcare premium. Even then, you will pay high for everything when you go to the Dr. Overall; they try to sell you on the idea that ClearDATA is a fun cool startup. In reality, they are a struggling business who throws away employee and business opportunities as if they were trash. There is a market for what they sell, and if they got their act together could be well-off. Sadly, from what I’ve witnessed, they will take the opportunity and flush it down the toilet. I tell everyone I know to run for the hills when considering a job there.
