Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

I just wanted others to know that the reason why there are so many positive reviews is because management requested certain employees to post reviews and rate the CEO high. As you can tell by the reply to any negative reviews they are managing their reputation which is not something you need to do if you are actually a great company to work for. I have never worked for a company with such bad benefits. PTO doesn't roll over from year to year, hire people as temps to perm so can delay benefits by six months (90 day temp time + 90 waiting period once actual employee), to cover a family medical was $1500 a month, large disparities in pay depending on which manager likes you better, little to no training or support to do your job. Majority of the leadership team has been there for 10+ years but not because it's such a great place to work but rather because none of them have any education in the field they are in and know they couldn't get similar positions at other companies. 1% 401k match billed back to property owners. If your property manager doesn't like you watch out you will get fired. Worst IT department things constantly breaking and takes forever to be fixed.

Interesting statements for sure - however, none based in fact. Here’s what is true: Employees provide positive feedback because they genuinely enjoy working for Coast – not because someone asked them to do so. Great leave benefits with the ability to roll time into the next year. Temps receive benefits after their 90-day temp time. Consistently low medical insurance cost with the same low rates for three years in a row and a large network of providers. Employees pay between $107 - $178 per month depending on the chosen medical plan. We have a fantastic 401K plan with a 50% match up to $1,000. Coast’s values – Do the right thing, Get it done, Care about the individual, Never give up, Find solutions. 50 to 60% turn over – WOW!!! That is high but not the Coast experience. As true in all companies, people leave when they don’t do the right thing or are generally unhappy and unable to pull others into their dissatisfaction. We strive for a positive, drama free environment where we can all make a positive difference in the lives of others. We wish you well and hope you find satisfaction in your future employment.

Pros

A few nice people.

Cons

All Systems are antiquated. It’s was like working in the dark ages. The so called leadership team is totally incompetent. They are so fearful of their jobs they lie and go out of their way to get rid of anyone they see as a threat. They have been there so long technology has past them by. They don’t even realize how bad they are. Employees are packed in like sardines. Terrible working conditions. Building supposedly was an old brothel, no joke. The two brothers (Owners) have no clue how horrible it is, nor do they seem to care. They stay on 3rd floor and never even talk to staff. They allow leadership to be total bullies. Especially HR. What a total joke, their HR director is the definition of a bully who has no clue about how an HR Director should be. If you are an owner review your management contract with a fine tooth comb. Watch for all the hidden charges on your monthly financials. There are plenty. This has got to be the worst property management company in Washington. I feel sorry for the staff and people that hire them. They pay terrible, over work you, and have horrible benefits and no matching 401k.

We just want to take a moment and apologize that you seem to have had such a bad experience with our company. As you can tell by the other reviews of Coast on Glass Door, your experience was clearly not the norm. We go out of our way every day to treat people as well as we wish to be treated; had you actively participated as a team member to resolve concerns while you were employed, it is likely that we could have worked with you to find a solution. We wish you peace as you move forward in your career.

Pros

There are a few very nice people at CRES.

Cons

This company needs serious overhaul in the Corporate Structure and if the employees out in the field do not have a good Portfolio Manager they will never get anywhere in this company. The corp office is like going back to high school LOTS OF CLICKS... They say they want to hire strong and talented people but best not give your opinion to upper management because if they do not agree it will bite you in the ass, This company should be investigated by the State for the way they treat employees... Retaliation runs rapid... The company is very tight lipped with open positions and do not share open positions with other employees... you literately have to threaten to quit to get ahead in this company. That seems to be where most promotions happen. The senior management is a gossip column and could start their own newsletter in the tabloids. They disclose information to other staff members they should NEVER disclose. Again this goes along with the High School Antics... BEWARE... I regret working for them and I hate having to list them on my resume because they really have a poor reputation with other companies in the area... I have literately been questioned why did you ever consider working for this company during interviews since working there. I just shake my head and said it allowed me to learn what I do not want in a company I work for. I honestly regret ever working for this company. Because CRES is fee managed they are managing properties for other ownership's as well as their own. I sat in one to many meetings while the owners and upper managers made fun of its clients it served. That is soooo unethical... and if the ownership's heard some of the things said about them Coast would not have MANY of the ownerships they currently have. It makes it very hard to work for a company with so little respect on so many levels.

We are very sorry that you seem to have a bad experience with Coast. Repeatedly rated one of the “best companies to work for in the Northwest” and having more than nine out of ten people rate our executives with positive comments and support means that your experience was not the norm. In fact, most members of our executive team have been with the company for over ten years which speaks volumes about the kind of company Coast is. Addressing issues while you are at an employer in an open and honest manner is a better approach than speaking ill of people in an anonymous forum where no claims can be vetted. We have hundreds of employees at Coast and in your case we have fallen short of making everyone happy. We wish you nothing but the best as you proceed in your career and are hopeful you are able to land in a position with people more in line with your ethical standards.
