Dead Company Walking

Pros

Nothing is good about this company

Cons

Marketing is running sales which is a joke and there is no leadership-average span of a sales rep is under a year after they figure out the product only does limited(2) types of file for analysis and uses other peoples product for output. With the new wave of AI agents taking over this type of analysis CodeHunter should be out of business in the next year as they are relying on 3-5 coding languages that AI tools can do seamlessly. Remember this company has been around for 10 years and only has ever had 1 customer-not a great business model

Pros

Lunch brought in Monday - Thursday

Cons

If you’re considering a role at CodeHunter, proceed with caution. The sales organization here is led by someone from a marketing background, with no actual experience in sales. Instead of structured strategies or knowledgeable leadership, this person’s direction changes weekly, seemingly based on whatever they find in the latest LinkedIn posts. The company's internal training is equally questionable, with management sessions run by a TikTok influencer instead of a legitimate industry expert. It’s hard to take the organization seriously when leadership relies on social media influencers for what should be serious business training. The product itself is misleading and fundamentally flawed. CodeHunter's website suggests it offers robust detection capabilities, but in reality, it only analyzes data from other detection tools. This distinction is not made clear, and I believe it’s intentionally deceptive. Micromanagement is a huge issue here, with constant oversight to the point of hindering productivity and morale. Plus, the company has only one customer, who happens to be a friend of the COO. Despite over four years of trying to sell this tool, they’ve yet to attract new clients, and the sales numbers reflect that. There’s also dishonesty in both internal and external communications. CodeHunter presents an inflated image to investors, claiming any company they've spoken with as part of the sales funnel to fabricate a sense of growth and interest. Even during interviews, they mislead candidates, presenting the product as something it's not. Overall, CodeHunter’s lack of transparency, weak product, and questionable leadership make it hard to recommend this company to anyone serious about their career in tech or cybersecurity.
