      Pros

      benefits are great, second to none. medical best in Florida, dental, take home car. FRS retirement. Very very good pay plan. room to grow. great overtime opportunities.

      Cons

      None except; you sign up to work any shift 24-7-365. Remember that. this is a profession, If you want a 9-5 job- this not for you. It takes a special person to be a Deputy Sheriff.

      Pros

      The Pay and benefits are very good and Florida still has one of the best remaining retirement systems. The co-workers at the S.O. are awesome and there are many areas to work such as CID, K9, Traffic, Etc.

      Cons

      Politics surrounding a Sheriff's Office can be disheartening. Recently there has been a lowering of the moral standards and hiring standards.

      Every day is different. Great County to live in. Take home cars. Equipment needs taken care of by the Sheriff.

      Cons

      Cronyism - the appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications. County is expensive to buy a home.
