Typical Swiss company from every point of view: they tag themselves as "international" but the whole, extremely small, group of decision makers is 100% Swiss. Micromanagement is constantly implemented at all levels of the hierarchy and there is the tendency to merge private life and work. Employees almost never get awarded, promoted and recognized based on their skill set, professional achievements and hard work, but rather based on other "parameters": feeding the (low level) company gossip, pleasing the CEO at any cost, organizing apéros and avoiding to express any honest or direct opinion which might go against the mainstream. In many departments there is neither constructive approach to problem solving nor an effective team work, whereas "finger pointing" and "backstabbing" are the words which best describe the atmosphere.

Managers are in constant fear of the owners (privately owned company) which results in 'management paralysis'. This creates a very unpleasant atmosphere conducive to rampant political infighting. Don't expect to be part of the decision-making process here, even if you are expert in your field. Worst of all, employees are summarily fired or forced out (Mobbing) on a regular basis for no apparent reason, and this includes staff who have worked there for many years. Scapegoating/finger-pointing are a constant occurence. Coercive, military style of leadership that stifles creativity. No Home Office allowed and near zero support for continuing education, even though they claim to support it. Otherwise, a great place to work. Not!
