      Some good and bad

      Pros

      Fast changing company; broad technology portfolio; nice 401k plan, leadership is trying to do the right things, alter the company trajectory, shed debt and make the company profitable again.

      Cons

      Health Insurance So-So; virtually no stock incentives, disjointed strategy across different products that have different go-to market strategies and sales fulfillment paths.

      Pros

      As a single, insurance is cheap. For a 2-year employee, 15 days of vacation plus a couple "floating holidays". My team within Commscope is great, even if my product is older. I feel valued and appreciated, despite being significantly younger than most of my teammates. Also a big push is being made for diversity and inclusion, which is good for a global company.

      Cons

      Pay is 30k under my area's avg going rate for software engineers. We are the greater Boston area. Please. And pay raises are usually inflation compensation only. Also the company as a whole has been having a lot of upper level management shuffling - doesn't give me the picture of stability. We've had several senior members of my team leave for better opportunities after our previous company Arris was bought by Commscope (PTO was cut significantly and no longer rolls over). Apparently there's a lot of debt to be paid off, enough that pay raises were delayed from the usual April date to July with no consolation compensation. Also no one in the general public knows who they are?!

      Health insurance is competitive and you get 2 weeks extra vacation for milestone service years.

      Cons

      Not many holidays and no vacation carry over. Not a lot of career growth options.

      Struggling to regain foothold

      Interesting Products & Technology. Understood the need to re-org and form synergies with all the acquisitions.

      Cons

      Not much Benefits (insurance, health, etc) Recent Redundancies Went through a few re-orgs that I felt were not well executed.

      Moving in the right direction

      Pros

      CommScope has people who are dedicated to doing the right thing and moving the company forward. The teams I have worked with have all been great to work with and foster a sense of collaboration.

      Cons

      It is a large company and sometimes suffers from a lack of agility to push forward change. The benefits could be better, with the health insurance not on par with high tech standards.
