Pros

you will learning a lot of systems

Cons

I would never recommend anyone to join this company, if you care for your sanity, your health and well being. take on apprentices and get rid of them, used and abused nothing to gain. Managers did not know how to handle things properly, despite raising concerns they were ignored countless times and nothing being done about it. Unprofessional. Bad company. Low bracket salaries, they pay the bare minimum, do not join, wait for something better.

Pros

Some people working there are nice

Cons

Based out of two pokey cheap offices in old mills. CEO likes the sound of his own voice. Promise customers the earth, deliver cheap inexperienced staff. Don't be fooled by the awards. Beware of this little wolf.

Pros

Fuel expenses paid. Hybrid working.

Cons

Inexperienced middle managers don't know how to do their job. Unclear who I even report to, confusing company structure. Job title was changed between offer of employment and contract - this was not discussed. No consultation before changes to schedule/planning, constantly diverted and reassigned with no notice. No opportunity to show potential, shadowing other techs yields nothing, being sent to 'assist' on project work with nothing to actually do, no instruction, and too many people for the job, then getting told I'm not being proactive enough. Despite being a 'hybrid' role I was told I wasn't in the office enough (happened to be local to one of 2 offices in the entire country - how would this apply to anyone else), office consists only of 1st line support working on docking stations - no real need to be there especially if not working locally, and no other field consultants present. Office working offers no benefits over remote, Company claims there's a big focus on training and development - no training courses offered, and most training materials are just recordings of teams meetings. 40h of mandatory training a year and hardly enough material to fill it. Office staff cliquey and unwelcoming. Encouraged to ask other staff for support - not forthcoming when you do. Teams chats more filled with in-jokes than actual work. On-job feedback was withheld from me to build a case against me- no opportunity to address issues or improve, just dismissed without a second word. Generally hostile atmosphere. Upper management good, but not involved in day-to-day. More focus on visiting as many sites as possible, rather than helping clients and seeing jobs through to completion. New hires not treated equally with established techs, different standards, one rule for one etc. Rendered shadowing useless as existing techs held to account a lot less. Was looked down on for being agency and not direct hired - two other agency hires were sent with me and both had walked out by the end of day 1. Induction materials not relevant to actual job.

We're sorry things didn't work out for you at Computeam. We want to confirm that all staff are supported in completing their target of 40 hours CPD each year, including the offer of an external training course (paid for by Computeam) following the successful passing of probation - it might be that you left before your probationary period ended. Our IT Consultants are both scheduled to site visits and have periods of reactive support to meet the needs of our customers. During times of no scheduling, we do encourage employees to attend the office where possible to grow interpersonal relationships and knowledge sharing with peers, however we appreciate that for certain locations this is not possible and therefore we typically arrange an office day once a quarter. We work hard to make new arrivals feel part of the team and in most cases we believe this is successful - we have been voted a “world class” employer several years in a row now by Best Companies Index and have reached top 10 in the Technology sector. Our monthly staff surveys score over 75% each month and we pride ourselves in our company culture of openness and honesty. We are confident that our current staff feel valued and appreciated in their work and we actively encourage peer value nominations each month to recognise success and growing talent.
