Pros

A paycheck, a few cool coworkers

Cons

Customers will treat you as sub human every single day, management is often unresponsive, this job is draining and exhausting, training is nowhere near thorough enough, there is absolutely no room for growth here. This job is a dead end.

Thank you for submitting your feedback. We recognize that manager communication and training and growth opportunities are important to our employees. As such, our competence development program focuses on employee growth and development. It outlines how to move through a career path, how CTG can support you, and how to take control over your advancement. We believe this tool is something all employees can benefit from and hope you take the time to discuss it with your manager. We wish you the best of luck in your career.

Pros

Company values that align with my personal values Respect for people Opportunities for training (even for someone over 50 yo)

Cons

After a succesful 1+ year project they let me go because they didn't see a new customer project in the near future (most of their clients operate in a different sector like banking and insurance)

Thank you for providing a response. We frequently hear that managers trust employees to do their job autonomously, providing support when needed. Since a significant portion of our population works remotely, keeping in touch is important to us. Frequent communication and idea sharing builds rapport, trust, and relationships among team members. Conference calls are an effective way to develop connections within teams when people are spread across the country. Chat with your manager about your concerns if you feel you aren’t getting as much out of the calls as you should. In terms of diversity training, we are proud to have a workforce diverse in backgrounds and ideas. The top rated statements in our most recent Great Place to Work survey were that CTGers are treated fairly regardless of their race, sexual orientation, and gender. We feel diversity should be understood and celebrated; training helps maintain that kind of awareness company-wide. We wish you continued success in your role!

Pros

They haven't gone bankrupt yet?

Cons

Management - There is no competent person in management at local sites. Don't try to contact Payroll there isn't a way to do so. There appear to be skilled managers at the headquarters in Buffalo, but they employ poorly trained and impersonal people to herd the employees and crack the whip. The company is inflexible and "charges" employees for "training costs" upon separation by reducing their pay for their last paycheck to minimum wage or otherwise charge the employee for earned vacation time. Extreme attrition due to inattentive "managers"

Pros

Good place for juniors to work at respectable clients. Car and/or bike lease

Cons

-Family or social life not compatible with carrier at CTG. (after 6y I was told to leave because "I don't put my professional career, above my personal life", after my holidays and during corona confinment, after 6 months of homeworking with kids around) -Minimum salary. -Fairy tale values. -Ruthless management (since change). -Slow career progression (unless you attend after work events, or organize trainings on your own time). -Not as multicultural as other companies. -Except for Testing, other departments are symbolical. -Obsessed with the "Employer of the Year" label, which is a masquerade.

Thank you for taking time to submit feedback. In follow up to your concerns, we believe CTG offers career enhancing opportunities for all levels of employees, whether they are junior, senior, or somewhere in between. We are disheartened to hear you felt your family and social life were not compatible with a CTG career because we feel quite the opposite. Especially while we work through the complexities of a COVID-19 world, CTG supports flexible schedules with work from home options so employees are able to fulfill both their job requirements and family obligations. We feel that type of support along with our dedication to employee well-being is what earned us “Great Place to Work” certifications in 2019, which is notably different from the “Employer of the Year” survey that we do not participate in. As you know, Filip Gydé, our CEO, is particularly driven by employee satisfaction and ensuring CTG lives up to his mantra that “happy people produce quality work”. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

Chill job during the night shift

Cons

Everything else is bad, they decreased pay from the year before, management treats you horribly as a contract employee and the actual IBM employees are making a lot more. They will offer to renew your contract continuously with the chance of coming on as an IBMer sometime in the future but they are also constantly doing layoffs. Training is horrible as well.

Pros

Very professional HR staff, and supportive with training. Worked in a firmware engineer roll supporting IBM Cloud and high performance computing. Very engaging position.

Cons

As a contract position, it can be terminated or paused temporarily.

Pros

The training at the entry level was outstanding. They had small projects, that required many of the common programming techniques. If one knows anything about programming the training would get you ready. Training was also available when I determined that additional skills were required.

Cons

My first client treated me like a team member from the start, but when I transferred to a corporate office I was treated as an outsider.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We are disheartened to hear that your experience was inconsistent with our company’s mission and the positive employee experience we typically hear about. Our managers are dedicated to supporting their employees by ensuring competitive pay as well as providing tools and resources need to perform duties successfully while identifying opportunities for growth. Our Learning and Development team works closely with managers to create custom learning paths so employees can further enhance their skill set. This is a great example of how we personify our core value of “inspire excellence and continuous improvement” where employees expand upon their professional and technical skills. We encourage employees who desire career growth to discuss their interests with their manager. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

We appreciate your feedback and agree that our people are a key component of what makes CTG a Great Place to Work. Thank you for the shout out to training! We invest in training programs and courses that will strengthen, develop, and expand employees’ skills sets. Our catalogue is built to fit many different interests and career paths, and we are pleased that you took advantage of that benefit. It’s unfortunate to hear that you felt the work environment wasn’t flexible, as we provide remote and hybrid work arrangements whenever possible. In addition, we promote and support a work environment that is consistently respectful and kind to all. We wish you nothing but the best of luck in the future.
