I worked at Coty full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Well known brands, some good people to work with, international company

    Cons

Despite the general very bad working environment at Coty, IT department is at another level of being terrible. This department is the master of disaster. Business critical applications go down very often and they can not be made up and running for up to 2 days. IT - business collaboration is very weak that as support manager you could be doing everything such as application support, business analysis, development or even testing. There is no concept of technical documentation. The availale documents are outdated and no one is keen to update them. So, as end user or new IT staff, you have no materials to train yourself. Processes are just written on the paper ( or even not written. Surprise surprise ! ) no one follows them. In the rare cases of process existence, you will be asked to change It each month anyways. By the way, did I mention that, everything must be done urgently ? :) Managers are not knowledge enough to mentor his / her direct reports. Managers only care about themselves. No career progression or personal development opportunity. ( When you are extremely lucky, you can get couple of certificates sponsored by Coty related with your job. However, It would not impact your position or salary ) Management does lie to the employees. They enjoy blaming culture as well so much. They never make any decision or take responsibility. They prefer making themselves busy with some unimportant things while real serious issues are presenting. Non existent communication or support handover process. So, If you are working in a team and one of the team member decides to leave, the replacement takes months even up to year or no replacement. You will be asked to work much for the same salary or they fire you as well. Project management is never heard in this company. I am not even talking about agile project management. Even the old school project management does not exist. I have never ever had an official scope of work document in my time at this company. Excel files are the king here and as you can guess requirements get changed all the time. Do not work for Coty If you do not want to ruin your self esteem and professionalism.

I have been working at Coty full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Access to products at a fraction of the price

    Cons

Extremely toxic environment, “sit down and get on with it” attitude from day one of employment with hardly any training. Management are bullies and back you into a corner. The bone culture is very high and you will be penalised for every wrong thing you do whether you knew what you were doing or not. Management are out for themselves and highly judgemental. Very unorganised organisation, they are only just entering the 20th century with how they work, a worldwide company should be well ahead of its game but it’s not. False promises continuously

    Advice to Management

Stop bullying staff and invest in the current staff you’ve got. Train to the full potential so everyone is happy as everyone wants to leave
