Full of young people who don’t have any experience elsewhere to realise how wrong it is!
Pros
Saturday hours are shorter, they hire anyone… so if you’re desperate I guess it’s a positive!
Cons
The pay is extremely low, and while the commission structure appears attractive at first, the monthly deductions and targets mean that most of your earned commission is taken away. In reality, you often end up earning little more than minimum wage if you’re lucky, despite putting in significant effort. The expectations placed on staff are completely disproportionate to the level of pay. Employees are expected to meet demanding targets, take on multiple responsibilities, and consistently perform at a high level without the compensation or recognition to match. One of the biggest issues is the lack of support. Staff turnover is very high, which frequently leaves a single person running the office. This creates an incredibly stressful working environment where you're expected to manage everything alone, with little guidance or assistance from management. Morale is understandably low due to the combination of poor pay, an unfair commission structure, unrealistic expectations, and chronic understaffing. Rather than addressing the root causes of staff leaving, the workload is simply passed onto the remaining employees.
