Pros

If I'd have written this review a couple of months ago it would have been much more positive. They do the showy things well, all the talks, the well-being bits etc. The office in Shrewsbury is managed amazingly well by Hannah. The kitchen is stocked up and there are plenty of events for those that want to participate in them.

Cons

I am disappointed by some of the more serious and practical bits though. Last year, when the cost of living crisis began, the CEO promised in an All Hands that they would rise wages in April in line with inflation. April came and not only was there no pay rise, we were told that bonuses were not happening. No bonus and no pay rise in the current state of inflation is effectively at least a 15% pay cut. Besides this, they have decided that we need to be in the office at least 3 days a week despite that there's not enough parking or desk space to accommodate this. I will also now have to spend more money of my already cut salary on transport. The CEO kindly said that if we don't like it, there are plenty of other places to work. What a way to make us feel valued!

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback and for making it specific and constructive. You are hitting on one of the biggest challenges that Croud, other agencies, and indeed other businesses currently face - how to cope with rising costs when growth is slower than previous years. There are a couple of factual errors that I would like to address: 1) any investment commitments we make are always subject to business performance; this is a reminder that we should always make that super explicit in our comms, and 2) we did give a round of pay rises in April to our more junior team members who we deemed to be the priority. However, this does not negate your overall point. We 100% agree on the importance of retaining talent. We are working hard to fund further salary increases and will continue to do so, along with other benefits that make a tangible difference to everyone. We believe that bringing people together in the office is key to building our business and culture. I thought we were OK on desk space so if not please raise any concerns with your local leadership team. We know about the pressure on car parking and are working on a solution. Your point on travel cost is noted, as above, we will continue to work on remuneration as we understand the economic situation that everyone is facing.

Pros

The day to day is ok honestly, the people are so nice and I have learnt a lot!

Cons

The internal and external communications, from the CEO and the senior team can be broken down into "The business is great and strong" "The business makes loads of money and profit". The reality is, everyone is struggling with incredibly low salaries and feels like their is no trust and support from the CEO and senior team. The other thing that makes my skin crawl.. While making redundancies and not paying people appropriate wages, the CEO talks and jokes about trying to become a billion pound agency... One we are a tiny company but two, when you aren't paying a living wage, how can you look at yourself in the mirror and say that in front of your team. There are more redundancies being announced, which is terrifying and genuinely we can all understand sometimes its necessary to steady the ship however to lie about it being so successful and to keep doing small rounds of redundancies secretly makes your nails bend. More clients lost as well which is so disheartening and again creates fear. It feels like this place is on the way down and so many of us are looking to get out.
