Pros

- I have been at the company for 2 years now and one of the main reasons I have chosen to stick along for so long has been the people. They go above and beyond to make sure employees not only have a steep learning curve, by ensuring we get to wear multiple hats in a fast-growing start-up, but also organize extremely fun and collaborative events for employees around the world, almost all-year-round, which is rare for such young start-ups - The leadership is fairly receptive of new ideas and is willing to have constructive brainstorming sessions - The CEO and Co-Founder especially are very down-to-earth and do not miss a chance to interact with the junior-most employees of the company and ask for honest feedback for what could be done better - And finally, it's exciting to be in a fairly exciting industry, where the company seems to be creating a strong niche for itself, which is underlined by support from some of the best investors in the world (Bessemer, DFJ Growth, Microsoft, etc.)

Cons

No company in the world is perfect but what I have always liked is the humility and reception to feedback across the company, which is all I care about!

Pros

-Good (not great) IP (there are emerging competitors that are already stealing considerable market share) -Fantastic employees committed to the vision -Stellar customer portfolio -Mediocre (at best) comp and benefits

Cons

Where to begin? Let's start with senior leadership that: -burns cash like it's going out of style (luxurious company trips to Tahoe with accommodations at the Ritz, chartered cruises, and extravagant dinners despite public knowledge that the economy was already in retraction and the worst is yet to come) -grows teams not because the business requires it, but because senior leaders have a skewed perception that bigger cost centers equal career growth...I have never encountered leaders as self-serving as those at Databook -invests absurd amounts of money in R&D for a non-existent product that the market neither wants or needs (it is abundantly clear that Databook doesn't actually understand sellers and are more interested in cramming their perspective down the throats of their users) -reinforces a toxic culture of harassment, micromanagement, and in-fighting despite a multitude of documented complaints and high-profile departures -opts for 25% staff reductions to make up for their poor decisions (that, of course, doesn't touch the CEO's in-crowd) The list goes on. Steer clear if you value your career. Working for Databook means working for leadership that doesn't value your growth or safety; instead prioritizing their own extravagant tastes and careers.
