Pros

great product, package and benefits.

Cons

-severe favouritism with regards to account allocation i.e. unfair distribution which means only a handful of reps will be successful (if you’re non-british chances are even slimmer) -unfair treatment of certain reps (widely discussed amongst reps), which subsequently resulted in their forced exits. - clear discriminatory behaviour and bullying culture - zero consideration from management that colleagues share their experiences (yes, we all talk) which has indirectly contributed in around 6 reps leaving since April 22 - lack of diversity - what was once an amazing diverse environment that was cultivated from previous leadership and amazing recruitment team has become the complete opposite. almost all reps from a minority background have left (definitely not a coincidence) I won’t be surprised if they try to rectify that to improve optics. - severe toxic culture from SD’s, which for some reason is not being addressed by higher ups - micromanagement: all calls are shadowed and you practically cannot type your own emails - SD’s will place unnecessary sessions in the diary to “pretend” to help reps (fake enablement) when it’s just a ploy to look good infront of senior leadership - hopefully they can see through this facade - reps feel uncomfortable going to SD’s for support and will exhaust every avenue to avoid having to ask them. Even asking reps who are not in the same region. - other regions (globally) and external recruiters are aware of this growing reputation - joining Datadog could potentially ruin your personal brand moving forward - which is a shame as the product and wider company functions.

Pros

Product is great and very competitive in busy market.

Cons

Be prepared to say goodbye to your home life. To manage the metrics daily expected of you, you will have to work minimum 14 hours a day. I have never seen such a poorly managed and poorly run business in my life. This explains the huge churn in staff. I used to work in a call centre with diallers and not even that was half as bad as this. You are micromanaged to a point I have never seen before. There is a minimum of 3 team meetings per day which make no sense. You have to call out your predicted forecasts on calls with the entire sales division? Its absolutely comical. So they can praise the 3 people that over perform and then punish the entire region that aren't. Racist comments were made everyday. Please be aware. The team is full of gossips. They pay the worst salaries in the industry, but expect the most. You get around 70 accounts (in total) in a minuscule region and expected to hit your number. Half of these accounts are duplicates and in the wrong country. Overall really dissatisfied in this horror show.

We appreciate your candor in leaving this review, and are sincerely sorry that this was your experience with Datadog. Our People Business Partners are activetly digging into the issues you've brought to our attention here through listening tours we're conducting across the Sales team, and we encourage all employees to come to their PBPs with any internal problems they face so we can work to solve them together as we continue to scale rapidly and experience growing pains along the way. We also have all folks across the organisation attending Behaviours of Inclusion and Actions of Inclusion training to be informed to build and maintain an inclusive environment surrounding DEI. We will not tolerate any slander or gossip within the organisation and will do all we can to mitigate this in the future through better trainings for managers and employees around leadership, allyship, and professional development. Thank you for your transparency and know that we will actively be working to learn from these missteps in creating the best culture we can for our employees.

Pros

Good product, salary and benefits

Cons

- UK Management has a toxic culture - No work life balance - Micromanagement - Management can’t be trusted (Two-faced) - Unfair account assignment (no chance to make your number) - Team colleagues just trying to survive and play the game till they hit their personal goals (commission/bonus/RSU’s) - Several good people already left (EAE, RSD and VP) - Don’t even apply if you are in the minority category! - Just read the reviews here or run a quick research on LinkedIn and you will see how many people have left over the last 6months!

We appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback, and want to apologize that your experience at Datadog has been anything but positive, as this is not the kind of culture or leadership we support at Datadog. As a fast scaling business, we are always conscious of the impact that individuals joining and leaving our business have on our evolving culture. There are times when that impact is greater than we anticipate, and we are working hard to make sure that that does not reflect poorly on the constructive and collaborative environment we aim to maintain. We will be addressing these issues internally with our leadership team to understand better where this is happening, and why. Our leaders and managers go through dedicated workshops centered around Datadog's management practices, unconscious bias, providing feedback and more, as we recognize the impact that managers have on an individual's growth and success in the company. We work to keep these trainings updated and relevant, depending on needs that are identified for our leaders and managers. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and know that your feedback is heard and will be addressed as we continue to learn how to be the best company we can be for our employees.
