Pros

You will be warmly welcomed and onboarding has greatly improved. Good colleagues and a dynamic start-up feel. A new management structure which has the opportunity to improve conditions.

Cons

While a new management structure and better working conditions should improve things in the future, I can only base my experience on my own time in the company, and this makes me doubtful about long-term change. With some notable exceptions, management consists of pointing at issues and demanding improvement, with no planning, coaching or strategy. There is a culture of short-termism which leads to small problems becoming a major focus for weeks and months, while the overall strategy of the company remains vague and ill-defined. As a result, 'yes' people flourish and prosper, while those who ask questions and desire clarity are seen as 'difficult' and are treated accordingly. The various other grievances previously highlighted also apply - a toxic atmosphere, favouritism, gaslighting as a management style, basic work benefits treated as favours from the company, and the existence of entire posts purely to cover the incompetence of quite senior members of staff. In short; yes, things may change in the future, but don't bank on it.

Pros

Offices are nicely located indeed in central Paris - this will certainly make up for the toxic environment and incompetent management you'd have to deal with. Plenty of bars around where you can drown the excitement of working for the world leader of whatever. Everything you need to know, do and think will be thoroughly micromanaged on all levels - save your initiative and critical thinking for after-work activities! Overall positive experience - anywhere you'll work after a few months at Dayuse will be a better workplace

Cons

No vision, strategy or company culture, and no efforts to create any. Mediocre mid-level supervisors unable to provide guidance or create room for professional growth. Condescending and disrespectful attitude of the "top management". Management by fear and no trust in the employees. The frustration of seeing a 10-year-old 'start-up' so badly organised : Dayuse could be twice as big today if the company wasn't constantly sabotaged by poor management.

The Tale of the Boiling Frog

Pros

- The teams are the silver lining at Dayuse. They are welcoming and supportive and I learned an incredible amount thanks to their patience and insight. - The remuneration is relatively high in comparison to other internships in France. - The location of the offices can't be beat. So many good places to eat.

Cons

Working here is like being a frog in a pot of water that is slowly being heated up until you find yourself boiled and burnt out. It's not that bad at first but little by little the distrust, the lack of long term vision, the lack of resources, the poor management, and the verbal abuse/yelling from members of the direction will take its toll. Additionally the recent covid measures have been poorly handled. And despite government rules requiring 3 days of working from home there is still pushback from upper management against this. Recently, more and more frogs are waking up and jumping out of the pot before it boils. I think the staff turnover is the clearest indication that things aren't going well and there is no sign of upper management taking that seriously or making efforts to change the way things are done.
