Pros

I was honoured to be part of a group like Decisive. I would undoubtedly still be working with Decisive if I had not chosen to pursue a childhood dream. As a salesperson in any business, it can be very stressful and high demanding, but thats what we sign up for and the nice part about Decisive is that they were willing to compensate you VERY fairly for the hard work that is needed to be successful. I always look forward to running into the people at Decisive as often as I can to have a good chat and feel like part of the group again. If you are looking for a challenging sales role that will reward you with friends, work-life balance, a sense of satisfaction and compensation.. give these people a call Great people, great compensation, great product.

Cons

Working remotely from home and travelling a lot was tough for me. But that is the role as an agriculture salesperson. One thing I found great with the people at Decisive (from management to other employees) is that they were always willing to field calls to chat about hardships and even willing to travel with you to help learn and close business.

Most stressful Sales environment of my life

Pros

Good product, probably the best in the market. The pay is good as well, not to mention a sophisticated easy going client base.

Cons

Decisive farming has the highest turnover of any agricultural company I have ever seen. Some territories had a 300% turnover in 2016, and when in summer training only 2 of the ten salesmen nationwide have been with the company more than 2 years. The CEO calls salesman individually after 30 days on the job, and will ask how many hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales will he have that year. He then calls his salesman on a constant basis threatening them about their numbers on a regular basis after that. I have never seen such unrealistic expectations from an employer in my life.

Dear Anonymous Employee, It is unfortunate that you had a bad experience; sales can be a challenging role. In high growth companies there are often growing pains that occur. Decisive Farming takes your comments seriously and we have discussed your comments internally so that we can continue to improve. As a reference, annually Decisive Farming does an anonymous staff survey and in 2016 our CEO was rated good to excellent by 26 out of 27 employees (staff level at the time). Thank you for your feedback and support. I wish you the best of luck in your future roles.

Pros

I began working at Decisive Farming as a GIS technician in August of 2016, and was promoted to a new role in March of 2017. Decisive Farming not only supports growth of its employees in the work place, but also provides you the tools to take your career to the next level if you are a motivated individual. Decisive Farming's product is above and beyond its competition, and with a recent expansion into the United States the company is only beginning to tap into its full potential. The healthy work and life balance also allows employees to take time off when it is needed, but work is expected to be completed on time, and to the high standards that are expected when the Decisive name is on the product.

Cons

The commute to work can sometimes be difficult for an employee. With the office being located in Irricana, many of the employees have to travel close to an hour each way to get to work. Over time this may wear on a person, but it is also nice to have that time to yourself to start and end your work day.
