      How to turn something great into something that doesn't rate.

      Pros

      Met some excellent people both on site and in Head Office.

      Cons

      Both Perth based and site based management have their own private agendas. The culture that Decmil laud so much during corporate inductions is nothing more than words Upper management is a real 'boys club', you advance within the business unit based on relationships rather than performance.

      No vision, no leadership, just a lot of scape goats

      Pros

      I worked within a great team, supportive, motivated. Decmil has its own full scale gym with Personal Trainer at no cost to employees. Employees frequently offered tickets/seats to corporate boxes. My role was afforded a great deal of empowerment, anonymity, and innovation. Business was open to new ideas.

      Cons

      Employee recognition does not exist Management & Executive are not accountable Lots of communication, but the communication is lacking in truth Safety - lots of talk, little action. Promises made, never delivered Lots of managers looking after their own backyard
