    Pros

DCMA is a combat support Agency of the DoD that manages Government contracts after award for virtually all supplies and services used by the Military. The advantages are that it is a world-wide organization that allows you to keep seniority and status when you move between positions and operating locations. Their benefits package is equal to or better than most major corporations, and hiring, firing, and promotions are transparently and fairly managed. Your opportunities for advancement are excellent and available to anyone who takes their job seriously. Check it out - they have over 1000 operating locations around the world and over 70 job categories you can apply for. Their benefits are fantastic and their retirement systems are far better than what industry offers.

    Cons

Unfortunately, government employees across the board pay raises (cost of living) are subject to the whims of our elected officials and you've all heard of the shutdowns that can occur. Seems like they are always trying to come up with a better mousetrap of an employee rating system that requires a lot of paperwork and written examples of your performance - but overall their systems are more fair and transparent than most used by industry. Otherwise, there is no downside of being a Federal employee in the DoD.

    Advice to Management

Settle in on one rating system that works and is fair - and don't try to improve it by replacing it with a newer, fresher smelling system.

    Pros

An exciting organization to work with because I had the opportunity to serve this country; involving my technical support to our five branches of our US Armed Forces. US Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force and the US Army.

    Cons

on occasional basis; the task under the program I handled experienced delayed in schedule caused by insufficient fundings required for completion..

    Advice to Management

The budget restraints are resolved thru negotiation meetings with the higher contract management level; for expedite action.
