    Pros

    Cons

Two words drive life in DCMA: metrics and documentation. You won't be adequately trained on how to do your job, but there is a huge emphasis on how to document what you did. Management only cares about metrics and documentation. Everyone who works here simply collects a paycheck and waits for retirement. If you have ambition or simply want to take pride in your work, do not work here. This job kills morale and stagnates your career growth. You'll go to school for 4+ years to get an engineering degree, and not have any use for it. People without degrees will make the same as engineers, if not more. Management is terrible and most positions are a revolving door, especially in engineering. Every engineer at my location and further out is either looking to leave, or simply waiting for retirement. The only people who like their job in DCMA are managers. Managers do not get hired due to expertise or competency, but rather tenure or friendships made with senior leadership. This agency has no real vision, but likes to recycle tired mantras like "delivering quality product to the war-fighter." You are not gonna build or design anything working for DCMA. Contractors do the designing and the building, and then someone from DCMA signs a document, and then the entire DCMA claims they delivered that product. The agency is stupid and a complete waste of taxpayer dollars.
