      Pros

      Strong use of technology in some areas: CNC machines, robot, 3-d software. It is rewarding to see designs in CAD come through production, have issues resolved and final product ship to the customer.

      Cons

      Lack of understanding for capacity. Lack of technology to do production planning. The job postings try to portray the chaos as fun. The owner's and management's shortfalls in growing/running the business and developing talent get blamed on the employees who are doing the work. No safety training. They insist on safety shoes/glasses. After that you are on your own in a welding and wood shop environment.

      Extremely stressful job with wonderful colleagues

      Pros

      The people that you work with come from all different backgrounds and experiences. Everyone wokes so hard to be there and the company makes awesome things. There is opportunity for growth and position movement, but be careful because that is how management can fabricate a reason to get rid of you.

      Cons

      Management does not care about the people. You will be overworked and stressed out. You will give tons of time and effort into this company and they treat their people poorly. The only way that they can keep anyone working there is by providing extra pay. The HR department has no idea how New York policies and procedures work and has a horrible working relationship to the shop floor workers. Communication is horrible and the shop is a mess.

      Toxic, Delusional, incompetent Managements

      Pros

      The camaraderie that emerges from hard working peers being keep under incredible strain and chaotic direction.

      Cons

      Ownership that refuses to acknowledge its own limitations and actual degree of experience. Senior management that’s rife with cronyism while trying to get the management tier below them to turn the company into something that makes sense. The biggest con would be honest, hard working employees paying the price for all of the above in the form of mass layoffs.
