      AVOID THEM.....more like R-EACT than E-ACT

      Working with creative, dedicated staff Modern building, latest technologies, generous printing allowance

      Cons

      Obsession with superficial tickey-box approach to school improvement No down time - unreasonable expectation that staff remain on duty at lunchtime Inadequate forward-planning; E-ACT stumble and bumble from one crisis to the next. Results of staff surveys are not disclosed - E-ACT don't like the truth! No "staff voice" but VERY high staff turnover; unhappy staff = unproductive staff Complete disregard for any reasonable work / life balance.

      Pros

      Well funded schools with good opportunities to learn how not to be a headteacher. Biggest plus was being left to own devices in NQT year and learning myself. Better teacher for it now. School promoted me early on which was nice - allowed seamless transition into new role.

      Cons

      Awful headteacher(s) Even more awful senior advisors to the academy chain. HR department is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Staff turnover understandable. Failing academy chain = stressed and unapproachable headteachers = unhappy and deflated teaching staff.

      I genuinely can't think of any to share.

      Cons

      Poor leadership, knee-jerk reactions, staff have to make themselves 'larger-than-life' just to get the classroom basics and are exhausted every day. Xx
