Pros

Talented Peers/Team Environment: The people who remain are highly intelligent, dedicated, and collaborative.

Cons

Pattern of Instability and Talent Exodus Serial Redundancies: The company has endured a prolonged period of trauma, beginning with three consecutive waves of forced redundancies. This systemic instability severely eroded morale and capacity before the current crisis even began. Final Blow Under New Leadership: This fragile foundation was completely shattered by the recent Voluntary Redundancy Program (VRP). The VRP, managed under the direction of the new C-suite, including Chief Product and Technology Officer John Basmadjian, was a profound strategic error. It resulted in the unintended and mass resignation of high-value employees whom the company desperately needed to retain. 📉 Reactive Crisis Management Desperate Measures: Management, particularly in the Product and Technology organizations, has now realized the disastrous impact of this talent exodus. Their reactive solution is to offer short-term contract extensions (e.g., one quarter) to resigning, business-critical staff to complete urgent work. Unstable Future: This approach is both costly and highly unstable. Employees understand the company's desperate situation and are leveraging it to either demand exorbitant fees for temporary retention or simply walk away immediately. This demonstrates a deep failure of strategic foresight and puts the company's long-term technical deliverables at severe risk under the current leadership.

Pros

Getting to work with a lot of great talented people (however long they might stay). Great office in the city centre. Good tech stack and wanting to enforce best practices.

Cons

ESO used to be a great company before the Vista acquisition. Since then they have been in a downward spiral of cost cutting, lay offs, and incompetence from the senior management and executive level. Tight deadlines were enforced, only to result in layoffs shortly thereafter, often shifting roles to Belfast to save on costs. The layoffs were handled poorly and left many of us in shock. An all-hands Zoom meeting without an opportunity for participation, followed an eerie video of the CEO reading from a script and saying those selected for redundancy will receive an email within 30 minutes. This left the entire company in a state of uncertainty and anxiety. At no point during the weeks after did the CEO directly take any questions from employees, with most communication channeled through an FAQ post. This just shows a level of cowardice the pervious CEO would never have allowed. While ESO pride themselves on positive culture and being a force for good by working on healthcare products. However they never mention how they are one of the most expensive options on the market and buy up much of the competition. They also hide some features behind paid add ons which gives the impression of maximising profits at the expense of hospitals and fire departments. The overall morale at ESO is currently quite low, and many employees are actively considering other opportunities. It is a shame because the people are the best part of the company and deserve much better than the treatment they are currently receiving. I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Pros

Office is in a great location and very nice Very talented people (for now)

Cons

Salary is consistently below market average and only recently was reviewed to make people's wages more consistent for their level Discussions of progression and salary amongst peers is very discouraged likely for the above reason Office atmosphere used to be great and very social but has been on the downtown for the past year due to lack of engagement and poor decisions from management Knowledge is not transferred between teams or people leading to a lot of catch up needing done when people leave Upper management tends to interfere late into development and derail things leading to a lot of turbulence Criticism isn't taken well or even looked into from employees
