Pros
Getting to work with a lot of great talented people (however long they might stay). Great office in the city centre. Good tech stack and wanting to enforce best practices.
Cons
ESO used to be a great company before the Vista acquisition. Since then they have been in a downward spiral of cost cutting, lay offs, and incompetence from the senior management and executive level. Tight deadlines were enforced, only to result in layoffs shortly thereafter, often shifting roles to Belfast to save on costs. The layoffs were handled poorly and left many of us in shock. An all-hands Zoom meeting without an opportunity for participation, followed an eerie video of the CEO reading from a script and saying those selected for redundancy will receive an email within 30 minutes. This left the entire company in a state of uncertainty and anxiety. At no point during the weeks after did the CEO directly take any questions from employees, with most communication channeled through an FAQ post. This just shows a level of cowardice the pervious CEO would never have allowed. While ESO pride themselves on positive culture and being a force for good by working on healthcare products. However they never mention how they are one of the most expensive options on the market and buy up much of the competition. They also hide some features behind paid add ons which gives the impression of maximising profits at the expense of hospitals and fire departments. The overall morale at ESO is currently quite low, and many employees are actively considering other opportunities. It is a shame because the people are the best part of the company and deserve much better than the treatment they are currently receiving. I can't recommend this place to anyone.
