1Password really cares about their Employees as evidenced by the wealth of programs available and the consistent messages sent by leadership
Employees are friendly and collaborative
The company invests in making work easier with AI tools and generally high quality software
The missions of the company is relatable "make the internet safer" and meaningful
Healthcare is excellent
Leave policy is excellent
Truly Remote first, the company invests in policies and programs to support remote work
Cons
Remote work can be isolating
Onboarding is a bit challenging as the new acquisitions are not well represented at the company level yet
The password manager space is competitive and the security (b2b) space is doubly so

- The People Team
- Awesome founders when they were involved in the day-to-day
- Great benefits
Cons
- Lost a lot of what made this place special during the scale up from 100-1000 employees
- Hired a ton of outside leadership which ultimately resulted in a culture shift and many of the people who worked there the longest leaving

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback about our culture.
Take care,
– The People Team
* Flexible working arrangements and quite a bit of autonomy.
* A genuinely supportive manager and a collaborative, positive team environment.
* Competitive pay for the role and responsibilities.
Cons
In recent years the company has shifted in a direction that feels very different from the organisation I originally joined.
* There is a strong emphasis on a “high performance culture”, but there is limited structure or support in place to help employees develop the skills needed to meet those expectations.
* Career progression and compensation increases can feel closely tied to visibility rather than the quality or impact of the work itself.
* The company is moving away from its fully remote approach. In-person events that were once optional are now mandatory, even for teams that may not directly benefit from them. The locations chosen do not always appear to consider the needs or circumstances of a globally distributed workforce, and employees are now required to go through formal accommodation processes simply to avoid international travel due to health or safety concerns.
