What they do changes lives for the better, particularly in developing economies. The feel good factor is real if you can get close enough to the student success. Great colleagues, supportive, friendly, fun. Global presence with opportunities to travel and create a large network.
Cons
A fish rots from the head down ... toxic leadership culture. CEO has been in role too long, new thinking is required as is a clear-out at exec level mainly due to weird 'disappointed mother' leadership of CEO which has created a dearth of confidence and performance at C-suite and their direct reports. They're all worried they're not good at their jobs, protect each other in case they get found out and don't trust each other. Real lack of courage, authenticity and inspiration which unsurprisingly filters down through the organisation. Sad really. The positive I take from my experience is that it's like being in a relationship with a bad partner - it brings clarity on what you're not prepared to accept in the future.
