Pros

The organizing apprentice experience is a great dive into organizing. You get paired with a union, and start organizing on a campaign immediately - complete hands -on experience and at-work training. The experience will get you familiar with the one-on-one house call and that will prepare you for a career in organizing if you pursue it.

Cons

Campaigns can be in a stage of phase, and therefore experience will vary.

Pros

Wonderful benefits and salary, some individuals are genuinely nice to work with… depending on the department.

Cons

Unprofessional management. Lack of leadership and training for new employees. Employees are not encouraged to ask questions, even on something they received little to no training on. Mid-level managers are vindictive and disrespectful as a way to make themselves seem more important and valuable. If you don’t want your mid-level manager to spread lies about you to get ahead, I wouldn’t recommend this organization. The office politics make working here akin to crossing a minefield. The most sneaky and condescending people here hide behind their religion and act like good Christians. Don’t be fooled, working for this union organization does not mean you’ll be treated with respect and dignity.
